Playing with friends

What's a good free online game to play with friends?

Marralhinha Online is a free 2 to 4 player board game that runs in any browser with no download and no signup. Create a room, send your friends the four-letter code or invite link, and you're playing in under a minute. It plays like Ludo or Sorry!, but with a center shortcut you can gamble on and a lot more knocking each other back home.

Is there a board game I can play in a Discord call?

Yes. Marralhinha runs as a Discord Activity, so you can launch it from a voice channel and everyone in the call lands at the same table. You can also just paste a room link in chat and play in the browser.

What if we don't have four players?

Bots fill any empty seat, so two or three friends still get a full table. If someone drops or steps away mid-game, a bot covers their turns until they come back.

Can we play on one phone or tablet?

Yes. Pass and play runs the whole game on one device, and Round the table mode lets you lay a tablet flat with everyone sitting on their own side. Neither needs an account, and pass and play works offline once the game is installed to your home screen.

Can friends on phones and computers play together?

Yes. Phones, tablets and computers all join the same rooms, and the game is built for touch as well as mouse and keyboard.

The game

What is Marralhinha?

Marralhinha (say it like "mah-hah-LEEN-yah") is a traditional marble board game from Terceira, in the Azores. You race your marbles around a cross-shaped board and into your home column, capture opponents by landing on them, and take a shortcut through the center with a lucky roll. Is it like Ludo?

It's in the same family as Ludo, Parcheesi, Sorry! and Aggravation: roll, race your pieces home, and send other players back to the start. Marralhinha adds the center shortcut, exact rolls in the home stretch, and a rule that your own marbles can't overtake each other.

How long does a game take?

Classic uses five marbles each on the full board. Blitz uses three marbles on a smaller board and takes roughly a third of the time.

Are there team games?

Yes. With four players you can play 2v2, with partners sitting opposite each other. Partners can't capture each other, and once your own marbles are home you move your partner's for them.

Cost and accounts

Is Marralhinha free?

Yes, the whole game is free. There are no ads, and nothing you can buy changes how the game plays. Optional packs only add cosmetics and help pay for the server.

Do I need an account?

No. You get a guest account the moment you open the site. Link Discord if you want to keep your progress across devices.

What do you unlock by playing?

Playing earns Marbucks, which you spend on chests and a rotating shop with 150+ marbles, boards, dice, nameplates, kill effects, trails and emotes. Everything is cosmetic.
